The Golden State Warriors are coming off their second NBA title in the last three years that saw them do it in dominating fashion this past season losing just one game along the way in the playoffs.

Despite that, the Warriors were able to add former some promising talent through the 2017 NBA Draft by trading up to the 38th overall pick to grab former Oregon forward Jordan Bell. In a recent interview with Mike Guardabascio of Gazette Sports,

“Offensive rebounds, creating more shots for Steph and Kevin and Klay,” he said. “Setting good screens, getting those guys open.”

There isn't a heavy weight of expectations on Bell's shoulders to come in right away to make an impact as he will come off the bench with the second unit. Although he lacks the ideal size at his position playing either power forward or center, Bell has shown an ability to impact the game in other areas such as rebounding, being an interior paint presence defensively, he can help be an asset in pick-and-roll scenarios, as well as play in transition.

Each of these qualities should fit seamlessly into the Warriors' playing style that utilizes those traits from their big men and could translate to an increasing role as the season wears on. He could quickly become one of the steals in the draft in somewhat similar fashion to reigning Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green, who he has already been compared to on several occasions.

All in all, Bell has an opportunity in front of him to develop into one of the pieces to the puzzle for the team's long-term future.
