The Golden State Warriors are unlikely to make a run at the recently-available Anthony Davis before this Feb. 7 trade deadline, but should the situation drag into the summer, the team will have a few options to play with, according to Tim Kawakami of The Athletic.

The two-time defending champions would need to muster a major shuffling of the deck in order to acquire Davis, likely needing to do more than letting Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins walk, but trade either Draymond Green or Klay Thompson to make a deal work.

The Warriors will have to get creative to wind up with Davis in the roster, but one thing is clear — this will no longer be a team filled with All-Stars from top to bottom come the start of the 2019-20 season.

Golden State is focusing its attention on the season at hand, especially after stringing together 10 straight wins after beating the Boston Celtics on Saturday.

Davis informed the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday that he would have no intention to re-sign with them in the future, a caveat his agent Rich Paul went public with on Monday morning, putting the rest of the NBA on notice.

The Pelicans have only 11 days to make a trade happen before the deadline, but would likely be best served to wait until the offseason, when the Boston Celtics can finally jump into the race and propose a suitable package.

The Los Angeles Lakers will get their first shot before the deadline, but any package offered is highly unlikely to offer an immediate asset that would allow the Pelicans to contend right away.
