Golden State Warriors star center DeMarcus Cousins is not known for taking opponents lightly, no matter who they are. In a video that surfaced online, the 6-foot-10 Cousins was seen playing the role of “Boogie man” for kids at the park, showing no showing no mercy to the kids naively trying to put up a shot:

Boogie was savagely wreaking havoc with his strong defensive stand against every kid on the block. You cannot blame the four-time All-Star given he won't be playing in meaningful games for a while. Still recuperating from an Achilles injury, Cousins is slated to play his first game with the Warriors in early 2019.

The injury has not taken away Cousins' relentless approach to the game, but Warriors fans would be happy to see the big man blocking more shots like this against NBA players.

While we have seen Cousins put more effort in his defensive game than in the previous years, the jury is still out on this facet of his game. With Cousins sidelined with an injury, the New Orleans Pelicans slid Anthony Davis to the center position and played small ball all the way through their first-round upset of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Switching on defense became more fluid for Davis and the Pelicans, limiting the production of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum as they swept the Blazers during last year's playoffs.

With Cousins joining the fold, the Warriors will indeed have the offensive interior presence that they lacked during their four consecutive championship runs. But for Cousins to log in more minutes in the crucial stretches, he has to put in a lot of work on his defensive versatility.
