During the last three NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers have had hotly-contested games, with their players not minding being physical against each other. That has carried on to their regular season games as well, with the latest during their Monday night matchup that saw a physical moment between Draymond Green and J.R. Smith.

With 8:10 left in the third quarter, Smith drove to the basket to draw the defense before kicking it out to Jae Crowder. It led to the ball getting swung around before LeBron James lost it when it was tapped out of his hands. What many did not notice though was Draymond Green hitting Smith on the head with his elbow on the initial move that Green made.

Green may have gotten away with the hit on Smith’s head, but a review could be made by the league office. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is no stranger to getting fined or suspended, but the Warriors are hoping that it will not be the case this time.

Fortunately for Smith, he did not seem hurt by it and he still continued to stay on the court. The Cavs are continuing their downward spiral to start the year that many believe is an unlikely annual phase for the team.

A big game such as Monday night’s would have given them a lot of confidence and momentum, but since they lost, it’s back to the drawing board again for the Cavs to try and get back to their winning ways the soonest.
