The NBA's marquee matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers has gotten off to a spectacular start with a bevy of highlights early in the game. Among the notable matchups is the showdown between Warriors guard Steph Curry and Cavs forward LeBron James.

Both teams were trading shots before Curry managed to get the better of James early on. With the Warriors down by five in the second quarter, he froze James with a saucy stepback 3-pointer.

The two have had their fair share of one-on-one matchups in the past. Curry just happened to win this round while capping off a rather impressive start to the game. He registered 11 points, five assists, and two steals in the first half.

Needless to say, being alone on an island with Curry is not an ideal vacation for most NBA players. He has made it a habit of doing his best work around the 3-point line, most recently with Memphis Grizzlies star center Marc Gasol.

However, the Cavs still managed to secure a seven-point lead going into the second half of the game thanks to James' stellar play in which he recorded 20 points, five rebounds, and two steals. He has helped put the exclamation point on Cleveland's resurgence with several big plays of his own as well.

The Cavs have been struggling mightily as of late, after suffering their worst losses of the 2017-18 NBA season just a few days ago. However, a revenge win over the rival Warriors would certainly help get this team back on track.
