It did not take long for the Golden State Warriors to trim down their roster ahead of the start of the regular season. Following their preseason opener against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, the team announced that they have waived Antonius Cleveland and Alex Hamilton. Both players saw action in the game, but only received five and two minutes, respectively.

With the Warriors having an influx of shooting guards, it made their decision easier, especially with both players also playing the same position.

Cleveland and Hamilton are both undrafted prospects from the 2017 and 2016 drafts. However, they did not give up on their NBA dreams yet, and signed training camp deals with the Dubs this offseason. Although it did not work out for them, they earned more experience which will help them in their quest to make a team's roster in the future.

They are now both free agents again, and could sign with any team that will show interest in their services. However, with most teams' lineups already filled, they may need to find job opportunities elsewhere, and work their way up to the league.

The Warriors now have 18 players in their roster, and will need to waive three more players in the next few days to comply with the NBA's maximum of 15 players with guaranteed contracts.
