Ryan Fitspatrick's Washington Football Team debut was cut short on Sunday, as the team ruled him out for the remainder of their matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers after the veteran quarterback took a hard hit from linebacker Uchenna Nwosu that injured his right hip.

Fitzpatrick, now age 38, went 3/6 for 13 yards in his debut before being sidelined. backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke was brought into replace Fitzpatrick after the medical staff determined he was out for the game.

Fitzpatrick signed a one-year deal with the Washington Football Team back in March. With Fitzmagic at quarterback, many believed Washington to be the favorite in the NFC East coming into the season.

As of writing thdhere has yet to be reporting on the severity of the veteran's hip injury. Washington still has their stellar defense to fall back on should the injury prove to be severe and Fitzpatrick misses significant time. They'll have a short turnaround for their week 2 matchup, squaring off against the New York Giants on Thursday, though they'll be able remain at home in Washington.
