The Ryan Fitzpatrick era for the Washington Football Team might have just ended before it could even take off. The veteran signal-caller made his regular-season debut for Washington in Week 1's game against the Los Angeles Chargers at home, and that was cut short by an injury that puts his entire season in great jeopardy.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Fitzpatrick will likely hit the IR after suffering a “hip subluxation.”

As for how the Washington Football Team will go from here with regards to their quarterback situation, it appears that the squad prefers rolling with what they have on the depth chart, though looking for external options does not seem to be out of the picture.

Following Fitzpatrick's exit from the Chargers game, the Washington Football Team turned to Taylor Heinecke who went 11-of-15 for 122 passing yards and a touchdown in a 20-16 loss. Apart from Heinicke, the team also has Kyle Allen on the roster.

Could Fitzpatrick's injury lead to an eventual reunion for Ron Rivera and Cam Newton? While that's a tasty narrative, it's probably too early to take that speculation seriously. A lot should be known once the result of Fitzpatrick's MRI on Monday comes out.

Meanwhile, the Washington Football Team will look to rebound from the loss to LA, as they prepare for Week 2's matchup against the New York Giants at home.
