The Washington Football Team has been plagued with injuries and COVID-19 listings for weeks. They had over 20 players on the COVID-19 list ahead of their Week 15 game against the Philadelphia Eagles and were forced to play without key players, including a starting quarterback.

Washington will have to take on the Eagles in another critical game in Week 17, this time without their top rusher. The team announced their final roster moves ahead of the NFC East game on Saturday. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport pointed out that the roster update did not include running back Antonio Gibson, who is on Washington's COVID-19 list.

Gibson is officially out for Sunday, and running back Jaret Patterson will most likely take the brunt of his absence.

This is just another nail in the coffin for Washington. In their Week 16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, the team was officially out of playoff contention. Gibson was able to play in the brutal loss, even after concerns of a toe injury from Week 15, and a newfound hip injury that limited his preparation for Week 16.

Despite a fractured shin earlier in the season, a toe injury, and a hip injury, it turns out that COVID-19 is the true enemy of Antonio Gibson and the Washington Football Team this season. While they only have two games left, Washington could ruin the Eagles' hopes at a playoff run with a win on Sunday.
