It wasn't long ago that the Chicago Bulls were totally irrelevant. The 2020 NBA All-Star Game was in Chicago, but the Bulls had very little presence during the festivities. Many Bulls fans only remember that weekend for the news that came out about possible changes in the front office, which came after fans chanted “Fire GarPax” during a Zach LaVine TV appearance.

The GarPax duo is indeed now gone, with Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley taking over. This new Bulls front office has dramatically reshaped the roster around LaVine since taking charge, adding Nikola Vucevic, Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan, among others.

While there are still plenty of skeptics when it comes to this Bulls roster and how everything will fit together, one thing that can't be denied is they're not irrelevant anymore. On the latest episode of Blue Wire's Cash Considerations pod, Josh Eberley joined the show and pegged Chicago as one of the most interesting teams in the NBA:

“I think they're one of the more interesting teams in the whole league next year. You did a lot, and I liked a lot of it, and I do wonder where everybody fits and how everybody fits. You mention LaVine has gotten better every year. … Does LaVine have another gear here? Maybe it's playmaking, maybe it's decision-making, maybe just athletically and with his shooting stroke he becomes essentially unguardable. If there's another level, that's interesting. If DeMar is a totally changed man and embraces that role as the secondary, tertiary role player, and Patrick Williams and Vooch and Ball space the floor around those two. There's a lot going on there.”

It's fair to have questions about how the Bulls will mesh, and there will likely be some growing pains. However, this front office has certainly infused this roster with talent, and Chicago should be a playoff contender in 2021-22.
