The Washington Wizards could be shorthanded on Sunday as their star guard, John Wall, remains questionable for their game against the Toronto Raptors, according to Raptors beat reporter Josh Lewenberg. Wall played through a sore knee in their loss on Friday versus Miami Heat, and was visibly hampered by the injury, finishing with only eight points, three rebounds, and eight assists in 35 minutes of playing time.

John Wall was asked about the condition of his knee after the game, but admitted that he is uncertain if the pain will subside right in time for tip-off against the Raptors.

“I mean, it just came up out of nowhere,” Wall said in an Associated Press report via Yahoo! Sports. “It was feeling good and then it just popped up. I trust my training staff and those guys and our doctors to do what's best for me and they'll tell me if I need to sit and what I need to do to get it back right. I've been preparing myself by doing all of the exercises and corrective work they want me to do, so I'm just going to stick with the plan I've been doing.”

This is definitely a huge blow to the Wizards, especially with the 27-year-old Kentucky product once again playing at an All-Star level this season so far. Through 14 games, John Wall is averaging 19.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and a career-high 1.2 blocks. Based on his standards, these are slightly sub-part numbers, which will only improve once Wall shrugs off the injury bug.

Tim Frazier is expected to start in Wall's place should he be forced to sit out the game. If there's any good news for the Wizards at this point, it does not seem like their superstar will miss a significant amount of time, and that they already won against the Raptors back in November 5 with Wall sitting out that game due to a sprained left shoulder.
