Washington Wizards guard Russell Westbrook continues to rack up the triple-doubles. Over the last five seasons, he has amassed a total of 127 triple-doubles which, in that duration, are more than any other NBA team.

Per NBA on ESPN, the entire Denver Nuggets have the most triple-doubles that aren't tallied by Westbrook.

Westbrook fans are very familiar with his do-it-all proficiency. The former MVP ended up with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists in their loss to the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. He's averaging a triple-double for the fourth time in his career. Before the game against the Pistons, he was logging in 21.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 10.6 assists per contest in his maiden season with the Wizards.

Many critics still slam Westbrook's triple-doubles as “empty statistics” or that he's just padding his numbers. After all, his efforts don't always translate to wins for his team. In his final years with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he made historic numbers but didn't really lead the squad deep into the NBA Playoffs.

People, however, don't realize how difficult it is to perform at a consistent level as Westbrook does. Recall the likes of Andray Blatche, Ricky Davis, or JaVale McGee who literally fought with their teammates or blatantly missed a shot to record a triple-double. Westbrook, meanwhile, just has to play his game and it's almost guaranteed a triple-double.

The former UCLA standout now has a total of 164 triple-doubles and it won't take long before he surpasses Oscar Robertson's 181 for most in NBA history.

But again, despite Russell Westbrook's impressive norms, the Wizards are still struggling to pile up the wins. They are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference and they will need some sort of miracle to squeeze into the NBA Playoffs.
