Washington Wizards point guard Russell Westbrook recently shared a photo of him together with his teammates on Instagram, complete with an inspiring quote by Martin Luther King Jr. after they succumbed to a 0-4 record in the early stages of the season.

Westbrook is clearly trying to send a message:

After losing their season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers in a 113-107 defeat, the Wizards failed to recuperate as they went on to tally consecutive losses against the Orlando Magic. The first matchup against the Magic was a 130-120 loss, which was then followed by a 120-113 defeat in the next game without Westbrook due to rest purposes. Washington fell apart in the fourth quarter to fall to 0-3.

The most recent loss came at the hands of a Chicago Bulls squad that also came into the tilt with a winless record. While Russell Westbrook notched yet another triple-double and Bradley Beal scored a game-high 29 points, the Wizards struggled all night and fell behind by as many as 19 points in a 115-107 loss. The Bulls used an all-around team effort with seven players scoring in double figures, led by Zach LaVine's 23 points, five rebounds, and six assists.

The 2017 NBA MVP has three triple-doubles in three games this season, but this hasn't resulted in wins. While his teammates deserve some of the blame for this brutal start, Westbrook's flaws have also played a part in these early-season struggles and fourth-quarter meltdowns, even despite the massive numbers in the box score. He certainly isn't happy about what's going on:

Hopefully, Russell Westbrook's inspirational message will be able to boost his teammates' confidence as they head to their second consecutive encounter against the Bulls on Dec. 31.
