Fans doing foolish things seems to be the ugliest trend in sports these days. On Monday, a fan ran on the floor in Game 4 between the Washington Wizards and the Philadelphia 76ers. It's the latest in the spate of unruly behavior from fans in the NBA Playoffs. And Wizards coach Scott Brooks is not having it.

The Wizards beat the Sixers to avoid a sweep and stay alive in the series. But instead of talking about their victory, Brooks extensively talked about the recent hooliganism of NBA fans. Brooks went on for minutes, passionately defending the players and calling out insipid people who disrespect the game (via The Athletic's Fred Katz).

“It’s unacceptable. It’s not good. Banning them, and this and that, what does that mean? Is there a facial recognition where you can’t get a ticket on the secondary market and don’t shave for a week and wear a hat and come in? They gotta get something on their record.”

Brooks, usually mild-mannered and soft-spoken, wasn't done, offering a sweet suggestion to harebrained fans.

“There are some that need to know, stay home. Your thinking is barbaric. Just stay home. Get away from us.”

After releasing his pent-up frustrations, Brooks went a bit on the lighter side with a deadpan quip.

“My mom would’ve had the nearest branch ripped off if I did something that stupid.”

The NBA opened up arenas to fans once again, but clearly, it has had its drawbacks. We won't even dignify the unruly fans by mentioning their string of dirty deeds here. It's has become quite obvious that they're just doing stuff for notoriety. And as Scott Brooks said, they just need to stay home.
