With the Washington Wizards currently without John Wall because of an injury, the team is looking to pick up a point guard. There are some options out there, but the two the Wizards have their eyes on are Derrick Rose and Ramon Sessions, per Candace Buckner of the Washington Post.

Washington has expressed interest in signing Derrick Rose or Ramon Sessions, who played as John Wall’s backup from 2014-16, according to a person familiar with the situation. The Wizards’ front office has had recent conversations with Rose’s representation and has remained in contact with Sessions’s camp since he was waived by the New York Knicks in mid-January.

Rose was recently waived by the Utah Jazz after being traded there by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sessions started the season with the New York Knicks, but was waived by the team in January. He only played 13 games with the Knicks.

Wall is out for about six to eight weeks after having knee surgery on Jan. 31. They have played well without him, but will need him for the stretch run in the playoffs.

In the meantime, however, the Wizards are obviously looking for a stopgap solution at Wall's position. Their preferred choices are interesting to say the least.

Rose has serious injury history and was literally thinking of retirement earlier this season after suffering an ankle injury. He's also older and has not shown he can be effective on a consistent basis.

Sessions was Wall's backup a few years ago, so that move makes more sense. He doesn't demand the ball or need it like Rose does. But he can also be a bit too passive on the offensive end.

The Wizards definitely need a point guard, but their two preferred choices have worrying flaws.
