When Alex Rodriguez bought the Minnesota Timberwolves, the franchise's future became murky as it was rumored that they were moving D'Angelo Russell and co. to Seattle. However, it was immediately dismissed as they confirmed that they will stay put in Minnesota.

Rodriguez is off to a good start with the Timberwolves as he posted an Instagram story of him bonding with franchise player D'Angelo Russell in Miami.

A-Rod seems to enjoy smoking cigars as he builds chemistry with the Wolves players. D'Angelo Russell was also with newly acquired forward Taurean Prince, who the Cleveland Cavaliers traded for Ricky Rubio.

Prince will be a solid piece for the Timberwolves as he is a solid defender who can knock down shots from behind the arc. The forward shot a career-high 41.5% from 3-point land last season with the Cavs. He has career averages of 11.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.

For Russell, his stint with the Wolves has not been fruitful yet since the star is constantly hurt and injured. In 42 games last season, D'Angelo averaged 19 points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.1 steals for Minnesota.

The new ownership headed by Alex Rodriguez will likely change the culture and the dynamic of the Wolves as they only made the playoffs once in 17 years. They will look to make the playoffs next season with Karl-Anthony Towns, Russell, and Anthony Edwards leading the way.
