Fans play games like WWE 2K22 to live their pro wrestling fantasies – some of which include breaking the ring. Here's how you do that in WWE 2K22:

How to Break the Ring in WWE 2K22

Fans of WWE love recreating iconic moments in WWE 2K games – including the footage above where Brock Lesnar's superplex caused the ring to collapse. So, how exactly can you do that in-game?

Before you try this out on just any of your matches, you'll first have to understand that this won't work in all match types. It can only work in matches where the ring isn't modified, so no Steel Cages, Hell in a Cell, or Elimination Chamber matches. Next, you will have to turn on “KO” in the match rules. Yes, you have to be able to beat someone out cold to win the match before you can break the ring. It will make more sense later on. If you're unsure how to do this, you can create your own match with custom rules, or head on to the match menu and enter the settings menu in the wrestler selection menu by hitting Triangle / Y. The KO option is the fifth entry in this menu, and you can toggle it on or off.

Note: We've just realized that we haven't tested this yet on 2 on 2 and other iterations, we're only sure that this works in 1 on 1 matchups.

Another important thing to note is that not everyone can do superplexes – it has to be part of the wrestler's moveset. There's not a readily-available list for this, but safe choices are powerhouses and giants. Big guys, basically. Don't expect Rey Mysterio breaking the ring. Being the cover athlete isn't enough to give him that kind of superpower. We also don't think any of the women's wrestlers can perform this. Tough shame.

With all of that setup, you're ready to take to the ring and break it. Now, as the match progress, have your opponent's head or body part down to yellow. Make sure not to reach red, because that runs the risk of accidentally winning via KO without breaking the ring. With your opponent yellow, follow these steps to break the ring in WWE 2K22:

  1. Throw them with an Irish Whip to one of the corners.
  2. Use the positioning system to prop your opponent up the top turnbuckle (flight the right stick up) while facing your opponent.
  3. With your opponent above the top turnbuckle, perform a grapple with O / B.
  4. Your wrestler will then perform the superplex, knocking out the opponent and winning the match.

It's possible that at this point, your wrestler won't be able to knock the opponent out yet. If that happens, just keep trying. Your superplex should deal enough damage to knock out the opponent and win the match. So, you might just have to continue hitting your opponent until they're weak enough.

Unlike in previous WWE 2K games, this is something that you can do without spending a Signature meter or Finisher stock, which also means it's no longer locked behind an OMG Moment. It's still a pretty wow move, though, even if it has lost that kind of designation. It's a fun way to end matches, and you should give it a try sometime. Sadly, you can't recreate the actual first time this happened, since Big Show is no longer in the game.
