WWE 2K22‘s full roster has not yet been completely revealed, but some superstars have already been confirmed through the game's trailers. However, the list's current length (standing at 45) is worrying fans. What if WWE's releasing spree of superstars from their contracts leads to a very shallow roster? Jeff Hardy's recent release also showed that even those already confirmed to be in the game aren't completely safe from being cut off.
However, there might be some hope left for fans of the video game series. In a recent report by Forbes, insiders revealed that recently-released superstars may still appear in WWE 2K22‘s roster. It all depends on three factors: When they've been released, when they signed their contracts, and what their current relationship with WWE is.
It turns out that all superstars signed to WWE when WWE 2K22 was announced (which was in Wrestlemania in April this year) were contractually obliged to appear in the game. This would mean that the MoCaps of now-released superstars won't be going to waste. This also means that it's likely that Jeff Hardy will be keeping his spot in the game, which may also ring true for the likes of Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Karrion Kross, Daniel Bryan, and even The Fiend, Bray Wyatt.
Still, this report contradicts an earlier report saying that developers Visual Concepts had to scrap DLC plans for some superstars because of the releases made by WWE. In this case, it would be better off to not hope for anyone's inclusions until they've been officially revealed.
