After being released from his contract in October of 2022, Nigel McGuinness has officially resurfaced in the world of professional wrestling, joining Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman on commentary at Ring of Honor's March Pay-Per-View, Supercard of Honor.

Officially back in the promotion that made him a Heavyweight Champion and one of the most prestigious performers of the last generation, McGuiness initially become a member of Ring of Honor in 2004 for a five-year run that saw Pure Title reigns, World Championship reigns, and very memorable matches with the likes of Jerry Lynn, Kenta, Kevin Steeen, Claudio Castagnoli, El Generico, and Tyler Black – some of whom you now know by different names. After a run in TNA, McGuiness returned to Ring of Honor in 2011 as a commentator following his retirement from the ring and served in that role for five years before being signed by WWE to call makes in NXT, 205 Live, and on Main Event.

Afforded a chance to sign wherever he'd like, McGuinness returned to the indie world at SuperCard of Honor, and while it's unclear if he will serve as the third member of the broadcasting team moving forward alongside Riccaboni and Coleman, it's clear Tony Khan is happy to have him back as he wrote on Twitter during Zero Hour.

“Welcome back to ROH, Nigel McGuinness!” Khan wrote. “Great to have you here in LA now at Ring of Honor SuperCard Of Honor for this great PPV event, calling the action with our great hosts Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman tonight for this awesome Ring of Honor show! Thank you all for watching Ring of Honor TONIGHT!”

Will McGuinness remain in Ring of Honor long-term? Only time will tell, but for now, fans can enjoy his on-mic return to the promotion that made him a star before his run in WWE.
