George Cooper may have died on Young Sheldon ahead of the finale, but actor Lance Barber attended his funeral.

His co-star, Raegan Revord, revealed this secret cameo on X. The cameo helped raise the mood on the melancholic set.

“Fun fact: Lance dressed up as Georgina and attended his own funeral,” her post began. “This brought some much needed-laughter to set.”

The first image shows Barber in his Georgina outfit. He donned a white wig, glasses, and a red top. He posed with the program for George's funeral in this image. A second photo shows him walking outside with his Young Sheldon co-stars Annie Potts and Doc Farrow.

In the final image, Revord captured the camera's feed. Barber can be seen in the middle of several other attendees of the funeral. It makes for a fun rewatch of the funeral episode to try and spot him in the crowd.

What happened at George's funeral?

In the twelfth episode of Young Sheldon's final season, George Cooper died. The penultimate episode before the Young Sheldon series finale depicted his funeral.

He died of a heart attack at school while he was working. Assistant Coach Wayne Wilkins (Doc Farrow) and Tom Petersen (Rex Linn), who were both co-workers and friends of George, broke the news to the Cooper family.

It shook them all up. The final two episodes of Young Sheldon showed the impact George's death had on the family, specifically Missy (Raegen Revord) and Mary (Zoe Perry).

At the funeral, almost every member of the Cooper family gave a heartwarming speech. This included Meemaw (Annie Potts), who was very vocal about her skepticism of him as a husband and father to her daughter.

The only Cooper family member who failed to give a speech was Sheldon (Iain Armitage). In his head, he gave a rousing speech. In reality, he sat there in silence.

Young Sheldon was the inaugural spin-off of CBS' popular sitcom, The Big Bang Theory. Chuck Lorre returned to co-create the spin-off with Steven Molaro. It serves as a prequel for the title character, who was played by Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory.

Iain Armitage took over the role for the prequel series, which premiered in 2017, while The Big Bang Theory was still airing. He led seven seasons of the prequel.

Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord, and Montana Jordan also starred in the series for seven seasons.

After seven seasons, Young Sheldon came to an end. On May 16, CBS aired a two-part series finale for Young Sheldon. The first part depicted George's funeral, while the second part showed the aftermath. Sheldon also heads off to grad school by the end of the finale.

While Young Sheldon just aired its finale, bringing the prequel series to an end, the franchise is not dying. CBS will premiere a new spin-off, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage. Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, who played Georgie and Mandy in Young Sheldon, respectively, will return to lead the new series.
