Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman team up again in a steaming romantic comedy, A Family Affair, that just released a hilarious new trailer.

You never want to walk in on your mom while she’s with your boss in the bedroom — especially if you don’t like the guy. However, that’s just part of what happens in the new glimpse of the Netflix movie.

Along with Efron and Kidman, the movie stars Joey King as the daughter who has to deal with her mother getting too close to the guy who signs her checks.

The official logline reads, “A surprising romance kicks off comic consequences for a young woman (King), her mother (Kidman), and her movie star boss (Efron) as they face the complications of love, sex, and identity.”

The film is directed by Richard Lagravenese and written by Carrie Solomon.

New trailer for A Family Affair

As for the fresh trailer, it gives a perfect glimpse of what’s to come.

It starts with King’s character, Zara Ford, sitting at a table with a friend (Liza Koshy), saying, “This is madness, right?” Koshy replies, “Yeah, this is your mom and your boss, who you hate. It’s weird.”

From there, Zara is seen walking into her mom’s bedroom. To her surprise, her mother, Brooke Hardwood (Kidman), is on top of Efron (Chris Cole). In their intimate moment, the couple looks surprised by the interruption, and everyone starts screaming. This causes Zara to turn around quickly and accidentally run into the side of the doorframe.

Knocked out from the hit, her boss looks down at her and says, “Zara, if you can hear me, name the movie I won a Teen Choice Award for.” She then opens her eyes and flips him off. “All right. I think she’s fine,” he adds.

It cuts to Brooke and Chris getting hot and heavy against a way, and she says, “I went a little crazy. I’m allowed, right?”

In another scene, the two are on a bed. Chris says, “I’ve waited for you forever.” That prompts Brooke to ask, “Is that a line from the movie?” He responds, “Yeah.”

The clip then details what it’s like for Zara to be Chris’s assistant — and it doesn’t look like an easy gig. She appears unable to do much of anything right for the actor. “You put my shahtoosh in a plastic bag with my dirty sneakers? It’s one of a kind. I only have two!” Chris snaps at her.

More scenes of the couple’s relationship, the frustrations of being the daughter, and a mother’s love all come to light. We also get a glimpse of Kathy Bates on her part as Leila Ford.

It looks like a fun, romantic comedy that also covers the agonizing realizations of having your mother date (or be involved with) someone you’re not too thrilled with.

A Family Affair will be streaming on Netflix on June 28.
