As several NBA teams continue to fight over the best free agents available on the market, the Golden State Warriors need not worry about the on-going arms race given that they're still the team to beat next season.

As such, it's only fitting that the Warriors are doing what they can to keep their championship-winning roster intact. They've already re-signed Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Shaun Livingston, and Andre Iguodala to new deals, and it appears that a fresh contract for their starting center is well underway just the same.

On Monday, USA TODAY's Sam Amick hinted that Zaza Pachulia is expected to re-sign with Golden State. While a deal has yet to be set in stone, the Warriors' decision to keep the 6-foot-11 Georgian is a sound one, especially with the remaining centers in free agency not being as attractive as in other positions.

While Pachulia's stats from the previous season aren't as gaudy as his fellow teammates', it's his grit and interior presence that the Dubs benefit from the most. Despite being blamed for Kawhi Leonard‘s injury sustained in the Western Conference Finals, the 33-year-old big did a nice, clean job of containing the Cleveland CavaliersTristan Thompson in the NBA Finals; ultimately taking one dependable piece from the Cavs' starting five out of the equation for the majority of the series.

Pachulia is expected to make as much as he did in 2016 should his contract indeed be renewed. Considering that the Warriors are going to be well beyond the salary cap over the next four years, another $3 million deal for their returning center is going to be quite a bargain at this point.
