The Kentucky Wildcats have arrived at their 6-0 start to the season in large part because of a defense that has held five of their six opponents to 23 points or less. They will face off this weekend against the best defense in the country in the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs.

It's a matchup in where points are expected to be at a premium. For Kentucky, per ESPN, they are using this game to size up their own defense and use it as a measuring stick to see how good they really are.

“They understand the quality of the defense we're about to play against,” he said. “A competitor always judges himself against someone else in his field, so if you want to be compared and feel like you are a defense that's in the upper echelon of the country, you've got to compete at that level, and you've got a great measuring stick sitting right across the field.”

Despite all the hype going into the matchup for Kentucky as they try to pull off the huge upset, the defense has remained calm.

“There's just a calm,” Kentucky defensive coordinator Brad White told ESPN. “When they go out on the field, they don't get nervous. It's really cool to be around. There's no panic. Man, they just play hard. It's not always perfect, but it's relentless.”

It's a defense that will need to play near perfect if Kentucky wants a chance. Georgia will enter the game as 23.5 point favorites despite the Wildcats being the No. 11 team in the country and being undefeated themselves. On top of that, it's still unknown whether Georgia will have quarterback JT Daniels available.

Expect an old-fashioned battle between the trenches on Saturday between Kentucky and Georgia.
