Inter Milan is coming off a tremendous campaign where they finished just two points behind AC Milan in the title race which came down to the final matchday. Despite failing to win the Scudetto for the second year in a row, the club should be proud of what it accomplished domestically. But unfortunately, their struggles in Europe continued, losing in the Champions League Round of 16 to Liverpool.

Now, Inter looks ahead to the summer transfer window, with a few different names being linked to the side. Here are 2 moves they must make.

2 moves Inter must makes in summer transfer window

Bring back Romelu Lukaku

This one is tough to do on a permanent deal, but Lukaku could return to the San Siro on loan. It's no secret his first season back at Chelsea didn't go to plan, falling out of favor under Blues boss Thomas Tuchel. Between injuries and inconsistent play, the Belgian really never found his footing at Stamford Bridge, scoring only eight Premier League goals. However, he was absolutely clinical during his time at Inter, forming one of the continent's best strike partnerships with Lautaro Martinez.

Halfway during the campaign, Lukaku left Chelsea fans in disarray after saying he'd love to return to Inter at some point. With Kai Havertz emerging as a legitimate option up front, the time for the former Manchester United man to reunite with the Nerazzurri is now. Since the Blues did spend a boatload of money on him, they won't want to give up on Lukaku completely just yet. A loan spell may be the perfect option because it'll either give the Belgian international more confidence or just make Chelsea sell him back to Inter altogether.

During his time with the club, Lukaku scored 67 goals and tallied 13 assists in 72 Serie A appearances. It doesn't get much better than that. Sure, Italy isn't the Premier League, but it's clearly a place where Lukaku flourishes. Antonio Conte isn't in charge anymore however the fact of the matter is Lukaku has fantastic chemistry with Martinez. They'd likely rip it up once again.

Sign Paulo Dybala for free

You can never have too many options in the final third. If Lukaku joined as well, Inter would have Joaquin Correa, Martinez, and Dzeko as the main regulars. Adding Dybala to the fold wouldn't hurt, either. It's a foregone conclusion he's leaving Juventus this summer, with contract negotiations hitting a standstill and the player himself making it clear he wants a fresh start elsewhere.

That said, Dybala would be available to sign on a free transfer and Inter has already emerged as a serious landing spot for him. Roma is also in the mix because the Argentine is reportedly interested in playing for Jose Mourinho, but the San Siro is the more logical destination. Dybala will want to play Champions League football and while the competition for minutes could be fierce at Inter, it's a chance to find his form.

Dybala bagged 10 goals and tallied five assists in 2021-22 and has extensive experience in Serie A. The only reason he may be wary about joining Inter is because there is no guarantee he'll be a regular in the starting XI, especially if Lukaku reunites on a loan spell as well. But, Alexis Sanchez is set to leave for free next month which means Inter will need another option or two up top. Dybala knows what it takes to succeed in Italy and he is still a quality attacker. For free, Inter really has nothing to lose.
