The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking ahead at the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft with a few different areas to focus on improving. One of them happens to be at running back. Following the move to sign Tom Brady, the Buccaneers need to target a running back in the first round or two of the draft to help bring more balance to the offense.

With Brady on board, the Buccaneers need a running back who can consistently take pressure off of him. They need a workhorse that can keep defenses honest. If they have a legitimate running back from week to week, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin will shred defenses with Brady throwing the ball.

Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich have to be excited about the 2020 season. It has been a long time since the Buccaneers were looked as a legitimate threat in the NFC. They still have some work to do, but simply the presence of Brady has made them a team to watch.

All of that being said, there are going to be some good options available for the Buccaneers in the second round of the NFL Draft. Currently, Tampa Bay holds the No. 45 overall pick. There should be two very intriguing options for them to target in that area of the draft.

Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin

First up, the Buccaneers would be a perfect landing spot for Wisconsin Badgers' star running back Jonathan Taylor. At one point in time, he was considered to be a surefire first-round pick. He has fallen down the board in some mock drafts, but that could be ideal for Tampa Bay.

Taylor is fresh off of a huge season for the Badgers in 2019. He carried the football 320 times for 2,003 yards and 21 touchdowns to go along with 26 receptions for 252 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers show off his ability as a workhorse running back on the ground and his ability to make plays as a receiver out of the backfield.

Giving Brady that kind of a backfield partner would make the Buccaneers' offense much more dangerous. Taylor has some concern surrounding him about how much of a workload he was given during his years at Wisconsin. He racked up 299, 307, and 320 carries in his three years with the Badgers respectively.

Despite all of the work his legs have already seen, the Buccaneers should absolutely be targeting Taylor in the second round.

J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State

The other option the Buccaneers should already be taking a long, hard look at is also a Big Ten running back. J.K. Dobbins was one of the most dangerous playmakers at the running back position in all of college football last season. Ohio State leaned on him heavily and he responded perfectly all season long.

Dobbins racked up 301 carries for 2,003 yards and 21 touchdowns. He averaged 6.7 yards per carry and also caught 23 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns. Obviously, his numbers are nearly identical to what Taylor put up for Wisconsin.

While the numbers may be similar, Dobbins is a much bigger threat to break off a big play every single time he touches the ball. He would fit nicely alongside Brady. If the Buccaneers are looking to round out their offense with playmakers all over the field, Dobbins would make a lot of sense for them in the second round.

Either one of these guys would be exactly what the doctor ordered for Brady and company. Tampa Bay may choose to go a different direction, but if they decide to go all-in offensively, Dobbins would be a home run swing.
