Coming off another poor performance in Week 7, it has become painfully obvious that some big changes are needed for the Washington Football Team.

After getting outplayed by the powerful Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Washington is overdue for some much-needed roster moves that can elevate their play and get them back in the thick of the NFC playoff race.

As they search for ways to improve each week, the Washington Football Team have to get the ball rolling and make some meaningful moves if they want to gain any traction this season and climb out of the current hole they've dug themselves into.

With all this in the fold for Washington, let's now take a look at the two biggest takeaways from their loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Washington Football Team Week 7 Takeaways

2. Antonio Gibson and JD McKissic both need to step their game up

After a relatively quiet day from their backfield, it goes without saying that Washington will need a stronger rushing game from here on out if they want to get back on the winning track. Normally these two players form a prolific running game for the squad and give them a ton of production out of the backfield.

Lately though, they've cooled off a bit and haven't been nearly as effective over the past couple of weeks when they've gone up against playoff-caliber teams. In the coming games, Gibson and McKissic will have to elevate their rushing games in order for Washington to put an end to their current losing streak.

1. Taylor Heinicke and Terry McLaurin have been productive for Washington

As one of the league's most underrated quarterback-receiver duos, Taylor Heinicke and Terry McLaurin had another big day for Washington. In spite of the fact that it was a losing effort, Heinicke and McLaurin put up big numbers for D.C. and gave it their all as Washington failed to match wits with the Packers.

If they both can keep this up, then Washington will have a puncher's chance to come away victorious in their Week 8 match-up against the Denver Broncos. As they both look to continue setting the tone for Washington on offense, Heinicke and McLaurin will be coming full force against the Broncos next weekend.

Now that Washington has come up short in their past few match-ups, they'll be looking to turn the tide against Denver and get their third win of the season. Given the talent this team possesses, they've proven that they have the potential to go on a winning streak and climb their way back to the top of the NFC East.

In the hopes of finishing off the second half of their season on a high note, Washington is primed for a big game. With so much riding on their season, however, they might need to make a few moves at the trade deadline to shake things up and bring some new life back into this young and dynamic playoff hopeful.
