Jadeveon Clowney has struggled to find a long-term NFL home, having bounced around the league over the past few seasons despite being heralded as a game-changing lineman when entering the league. Despite a solid season for the Cleveland Browns, Clowney is once again expected to hit the open market this offseason, though he'll be hoping to sign a multi-year deal this time around.
There should be a handful of teams interested in bringing Clowney on board, as he is coming off one of the best seasons of his NFL career. Last year with the Browns, Clowney logged 24 tackles and 9.0 sacks across 14 games. He recorded 19 QB hits and 11 tackles for loss on the year, enjoying his best season since his days with the Houston Texans.
At 29, Clowney can still provide multiple years of strong production for whatever team he lands with, and there should be a solid market for his signature in free agency. With that in mind, here are the three best landing spots for Jadeveon Clowney in 2022 NFL free agency.

Jadeveon Clowney Free Agency Landing Spots
Chargers' DE Joey Bosa has proven to be one of the most dominant pass-rushers in football over the past few seasons. The only thing that could help further unleash Bosa would be to pair him with another quality EDGE rusher such as Clowney. Having a tandem of Bosa and Clowney on the EDGE would be a nightmare for opposing offensive lines, as focusing on one of them will enable the other to get after the quarterback.
With Clowney proving his struggles in Tennessee and Seattle are in the past, the Chargers should be at the forefront of his market. Considering how close the team was to reaching the playoffs last year, adding a formidable pass-rusher such as Clowney could be the boost they need to get over the hump. The Chargers ranked 19th in the NFL last season, averaging 2.1 sacks per game, but adding another talent like Clowney could see them take big strides in that area.
2. Cleveland Browns
After a bit of a career resurgence in Cleveland last year, the Browns would be wise to bring Clowney back to their defensive line in 2022. Similar to how Clowney would compliment Bosa, that's the effect he has when lined up opposite Myles Garrett, allowing the two to create a formidable duo in the trenches. Clowney and Garrett were the only Browns' defenders with more than 3.0 sacks on the year, so if Cleveland fails to bring Clowney back to town, they'll certainly need to find a replacement.
Rather than have to seek out someone to fill Clowney's void, the Browns should look to keep the former No. 1 overall pick in Cleveland in hopes of another strong season. He clearly fits well in their defensive scheme, so why not continue to build on the success he had in 2021 by bringing him back for another go-around?
The thought of Clowney lined up opposite the wrecking ball that is Trey Hendrickson should be enough to have Bengals fans on board with this idea. While Sam Hubbard is still under contract for a few more seasons, he would still be a valued depth piece behind Clowney and Hendrickson, both of whom have dealt with injuries throughout their career. The Bengals are an incredibly talented group, but they're expected to be big spenders in free agency, too, further adding to their riches of talent.
Targeting Clowney would be a wise use of their cap space this offseason, and could provide some needed depth to a key position on the defense. Clowney is familiar with the AFC North, having just come off a season with the Browns, so it wouldn't take him long to acclimate in Cincinnati. The tandem of Clowney and Hendrickson could prove to be a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks and offensive linemen alike, and is something the Bengals should strongly consider during free agency.
