Aaron Rodgers is entering the 2020 NFL season with a massive chip on his shoulder. Even at the age of 36, Rodgers is one of the most feared quarterbacks in the game. He has received a ton of criticism over the last couple of years, but he hasn't had great weapons either. With extra motivation, many fans are expecting a resurgent season from Rodgers.
During the 2019 season with the Packers, Rodgers ended up completing 62 percent of his passes for 4,002 yards, 26 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He also picked up 183 yards and a score on the ground.
Looking ahead at the upcoming season, the Packers are hoping to replicate the kind of success that they had in 2019. They finished the season with a 13-3 record and a trip to the NFC Championship Game. While they had a great year, their offseason was less than impressive on paper.
If the Packers want to make a run at the Super Bowl, they will need an MVP-caliber season from Rodgers. He is more than capable of rising to the occasion, but no one knows exactly what to expect.

Let's be honest about one fact that no one can argue against. When the pressure is on, Rodgers has always found ways to rise to the occasion and silence his critics.
Rodgers has been receiving more criticism over the last two years than he has throughout his entire career. Fans and the media have turned on the superstar quarterback. He has heard terms like “washed up” and “no longer elite” used when describing him.
With the pressure at the highest it has been in years, Rodgers will put up big numbers. He will throw for at least 4,500 yards and 35 touchdowns. Those numbers are going to put the Packers in a great position to contend in the NFC.

Finally, the most bold expectation that can be had for Rodgers this season would be competing for the MVP award. His former teammate, James Jones, recently made a very bold prediction for Rodgers, which was that he would win the NFL MVP award in 2020.
Green Bay may not have gone out and added a big weapon for Rodgers, but they are confident that they have enough firepower. Devin Funchess was added in free agency, which should help, but the young wideouts are going to develop. Names like Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Equanimeous St. Brown should have better years in 2020.
Assuming the talent around Rodgers grows, the MVP award is a reasonable goal. The Packers may not end up winning the Super Bowl this season, but they are going to like what they see from their franchise quarterback. Rodgers will turn back the clock and put on a show in 2020.
