The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies are reaching the top of the hill of the 2023 National League Division Series. There is no more after Tuesday between these two rivals. It is win or go home for the D'backs and the Phillies, as they make their final attempt to secure a seat in the 2023 World Series. With that said, here are three bold predictions for Game 7 of the NLCS.

Kyle Schwarber hits (at least) two home runs

There is no hiding the huge impact of Schwarber on the Phillies' offense in the 2023 NLCS. He is arguably the scariest hitter among all players of teams who have reached the league championship round. And since we're in the business of making bold predictions here, why not expect a multi-home run game from the Phillies star?

For one, he's already done it in this series when he launched two homers back in Game 2 to help the Phillies pull off an easy 10-0 victory. Schwarber has yet to have success against Pfaadt in his career, but the sample size is too small to say which has a clear advantage in that pitcher-batter matchup. (Schwarber is 0-for-2 all-time versus Pfaadt).

Regardless of which pitcher is on the mound for the Diamondbacks, Schwarber is a huge threat to Arizona, and despite all the power he's already flashed in the first six games of the NLCS, he might have just reserved the best one for the series finale. So far in this series, Schwarber is 8-for-19 with five home runs, five RBIs, and a double.

Zack Wheeler pitches out of the bullpen and shines

Don't be surprised if you see Wheeler in the bullpen in Game 7. Following the Phillies' Game 6 loss to Arizona, Philadelphia manager Rob Thomson indicated that the ace will be available to pitch in a relief situation this Tuesday.

“All hands on deck,” Thomson said about his team's approach for the final game of the NLCS, per Matt Gelb of The Athletic.

Wheeler has been superb on the mound for Philadelphia in the 2023 MLB postseason. He also already has two great starts in this Diamondbacks series. Back in Game 1, he went six innings long and surrendered only two earned runs on three hits with eight strikeouts in a 5-3 victory.

Days later, he put up an even better performance, throwing for seven innings and surrendering just a run on six hits with eight punchouts to lead the Phillies to a 6-1 win. That last appearance was on a Saturday, leaving Wheeler with just a short rest for a potential relief appearance this Tuesday. In any case, the Phillies are keeping all their options open, and if it gets hairy for them, they can perhaps ask for an inning or two from Wheeler to keep their heads above water in high-pressure situations.

Diamondbacks stun Phillies, win Game 7 of 2023 NLCS

Schwarber having a great game? Check. Zack Wheeler making a solid brief appearance out of the bullpen? Check. But what could be a bolder prediction than the Diamondbacks actually pulling off a stunner at Citizens Bank Park?

The Diamondbacks aren't supposed to be this deep into the postseason. But here they are, somehow still with a chance to make the World Series despite facing the NL Centrals' top team in the Wild-Card round and the 100-win Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL Division Series. That's not to mention that they lost the first two games of the series against the Phillies and were down 3-1 after four games.

There is something in the underdog Diamondbacks that gets them going, and that same factor is going to show up in Game 7 and clinch them a ticket to the World Series.
