The Los Angeles Rams have made some solid moves to improve the roster for the 2021 NFL season. After trading Jared Goff away for Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles has put themselves in the mix to win the NFC West this season. With a ton of weapons on the offense and one of the best defenses in the league, the Rams should be able to win a ton of games in 2021.

The starting roles are essentially a lock for the Rams, so any position battles will be had will be for backup roles. Los Angeles is stacked in a few positions, so this team should have a deep roster this year. It'll be tough competition throughout the pre-season, but the Rams will still be solid.

A handful of players may receive the ax sooner, rather than later. The Rams will weed out the players in positions they're stacked in, which could make for some easy decisions for the coaching staff. With that said, here are three cut candidates on the Rams roster bubble entering training camp.

Bryce Perkins

The quarterback position is a lock for Los Angeles. Matthew Stafford is the starter, and John Wolford proved to be a solid backup last year. Bryce Perkins will be competing with Devlin “Duck” Hodges for the third spot on the roster, however, Hodges flashed some talent in 2019 filling in for an injury-riddled Pittsburgh Steelers team.

That leaves Perkins as the odd man out in Los Angeles. He could make the practice squad, but the Rams are more likely to fill the practice squad with other positions. We'll see how training camp plays out, but it's not looking good for Bryce Perkins.

Paris Ford

Paris Ford looked to be a solid prospect in 2019. However, that all changed after he chose to opt-out of the 2020 season then performed poorly at his pro-day. For that reason, Ford went undrafted and signed with the Rams as a UDFA. It'll be interesting to see how he handles training camp, but the odds are not in his favor.

The Rams have one of, if not, the best secondary in the league. Ford will have to have a perfect training camp while balling out in the preseason games to make the final roster. It's going to be a tough summer for Paris Ford, as he signed with a team that's stacked in his position.

Brycen Hopkins

The Rams tight end group should be interesting this year. Some believe it's finally time for Tyler Higbee to step up as the clear starter. However, Los Angeles brought in rookie Jacob Harris who has gained traction since his pro-day. With five total tight ends on the roster entering training camp, at least one is bound to be cut from the team.

Brycen Hopkins might just be the odd man out in Los Angeles. The Rams will keep Higbee as their starter and Harris could carve out a role early in his career. The coaching staff seems to like Kendall Blanton and Johnny Mundt as well, leaving Hopkins on the outside looking in.
