The Philadelphia Eagles were able to come away with an impressive Week 13 win against the New York Jets, 33-18. Philadelphia is now 6-7 on the season and still has an outside chance to make the playoffs.

Philadelphia was able to win this game without their starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts, who is dealing with an ankle injury. Quarterback Gardner Minshew stepped up for the Eagles as he went 20-25 in the air for 242 yards and two touchdowns. Miles Sanders also had an impressive game before he went down with an ankle injury as he had 24 carries for 120 yards.

Unfortunately for Philadelphia, they didn't take advantage of some of the easier games on their schedule and they find themselves in a tough spot to make the playoffs. If they can win their last four games, they do still have a great shot to make the playoffs. Their last four games are all winnable as they will take on the Washington Football Team(twice), the New York Giants, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Let's take a look at three takeaways from the Eagles-Jets game in Week 13.

Eagles Week 13 Takeaways

3. Minshew stepped up

There wasn't much that didn't go Gardner Minshew's way on Sunday. He helped lead the Eagles to a 33-18 win as he threw for over 200 yards and two touchdowns in the air.

If Jalen Hurts was able to play like this a week ago against the New York Giants, Philadelphia would have won that game with ease and would be in a great spot to make the playoffs. Obviously, Hurts is the quarterback of the future, but Gardner Minshew did a great job and stepped up to do exactly what his Eagles team needed to do.

There wasn't much more that the Eagles' coaching staff, fans, or players could ask for with his performance on Sunday.

2. The playoffs are still in reach

It might seem far-fetched, but if the Eagles can win out and go at 10-7 on the season, they still have a great chance to make the playoffs. They should be able to win their next three games as they will play Washington twice and the New York Giants once before playing the Dallas Cowboys. Playing the Dallas Cowboys will not be an easy game but luckily for Philadelphia, they will be playing at home.

They have shown throughout the season that they could be a good football team. They already have exceeded expectations this season as many thought they'd be a four-five win team. A playoff appearance would be great for the future of this organization as most of their key guys are young and they could use the experience of playing in the playoffs.

1. The run game was finally used correctly

This was the most important takeaway of Week 13 for the Eagles. They finally ran the football as much as they should have and it opened up the offense for a successful passing game. Jalen Hurts needs to realize that he can't do everything himself and the Philadelphia offensive coordinator also needs to realize that they need to run the football more.

When they allow Miles Sanders to get more than 20 touches a game, they're going to find success. Hopefully, for the Eagles, they will run the football more just like they did in Week 13 and be able to have a more competitive offense for the last four weeks.
