The Green Bay Packers have had one of the most interesting offseasons in the NFL. After an early playoff exit, they proceeded to trade away superstar wide receiver Davante Adams without any apparent plan to replace him. Because of their lack of action, we have to assume that the Packers are waiting for the 2022 NFL Draft to find themselves another wide receiver.

That's where Treylon Burks comes in. The University of Arkansas product may be the best receiver in this draft class, and Green Bay should be looking to let him prove that.

3 Reasons Treylon Burks is the perfect fit for the Packers

3. He can beat single coverage

With Adams going to the Las Vegas Raiders, the Packers desperately need an X receiver. They don't have a single player on the roster who can consistently beat single coverage, something that needs to change before the season rolls around. Burks is a size mismatch for anyone he faces, as his 6'3″ frame and 4.55 speed are a terrific combination. Despite his huge frame, he's also a smooth route-runner. His playing style is reminiscent of a faster Alshon Jeffery or Brandon Marshall, two guys who were dominant in one-on-one matchups during their prime. The Packers consistently isolated Adams on the back side of the offense, but that's not an option anymore. Coach Matt LeFleur is in desperate need of a good one-on-one player, and Burks is that guy.

2. He will be available when the Packers are on the clock

This is a factor that is often overlooked. Green Bay won't have to spend extra draft capital on Burks, as he should be available at pick no. 21. Without the need to trade up, the Packers will have extra capital to add even more talent where they see fit. It is possible that Burks will still be on the clock when the Packers pick at no. 28. That's the best-case scenario, as it allows the squad to add another premier prospect with its first first-rounder. Drafting Burks would allow the Packers to get maximum value from each of their draft picks, something that is incredibly valuable for a team on the brink of Super Bowl contention.

1. He is a talented player at a position of need

Burks fulfills both things that general managers across the league covet. He's talented enough to warrant a first-round pick, and he also fills a massive need for the Packers. They are currently set to start Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, and Allen Lazard as wide receivers. That is easily a bottom-five receiving room in the NFL. Heading into the regular season with those three guys starting would be a total disaster for the Packers. Burks would be an instant starter and would likely be Aaron Rodgers' most reliable target right away. General manager Brian Gutekunst would be getting massive value for his selection if he does decide on Burks.
