After finishing the season 7-9 last year and missing out on the NFL playoffs, there is hope that with the changes made this offseason this can be a playoff team next year. They play in a very big tough NFC, but anything can happen any given year. There are also some big storylines that can't be ignored heading into the season so let's break down the four biggest.

Dwayne Haskins, Redskins

Who's the Quarterback?

This is no doubt the biggest storyline heading into training camp and will probably be a storyline for most of the year is what is the team doing at quarterback.

Colt McCoy is expected to be healthy enough to compete for the starting job, the team traded for Case Keenum, and they drafted Dwayne Haskins with their first-round pick.

If Haskins wins the job out of training camp, then this won't be much of a storyline to follow, except how well he plays.

If McCoy or Keenum wins the job and they start to struggle, there will be some calls for Haskins to take over, and that would be quite the story.

Who's Going to Step Up at Wide Receiver?

The Redskins have Josh Doctson and Paul Richardson out wide, but after that, it's a bunch of question marks. Trey Quinn is back from last years squad but he only had seven catches on the season so how much can he really be trusted?

The team also drafted Terry McLaurin in the third round, and Kelvin Harmon in the six round and both are expected to have to contribute right away.

If those guys can't prove enough during training camp and there is a veteran wide receiver who is cut, don't be surprised if the Redskins hop on.

Montez Sweat, Jay Gruden, Redskins

Is Montez Sweat the Real Deal?

Montez Sweat is a workout warrior and had one of the best combines ever. Many believed Sweat was a top ten pick but a misdiagnosis made his draft stock fall, and that allowed the Redskins to take him with the 26th overall pick.

He has been impressive during rookie minicamp, and head coach Jay Gruden went as far as calling him a beast via the Redskins team website.

“He's a monster, man. … I have no doubt that he's going to play a lot. The skill set that he has is quite evident. You see his length and then you watch him run after practice and he's faster than anybody we have probably right now. He eats up ground when he runs. It's like three strides and he's all the way across the field. It's crazy.”

He is going to get plenty of chances to prove it early, and all eyes are going to be on him.

Can Jay Gruden do Enough to Keep his Job Another Year?

There was much speculation that Jay Gruden was going to lose his job this past offseason, but ownership decides to keep him around for, but for how long?

This is a rebuild job, and the expectations really aren't playoffs but if the team only wins three or four games will that cause him to lose his job?

These are all good questions that can only be answered as the season progresses.
