The Cleveland Browns travel west to face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. With that said, it’s time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Browns Week 5 prediction.
Cleveland might be the most banged-up team in the NFL right now. The team is dealing with injuries to every position, even quarterback. Baker Mayfield has a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder but played with it last week. It will be a next-man-up mentality this Sunday, but the Browns are a good enough team to handle their business against the Chargers.
The Browns will need to play their best against a rising Bolts team. The defense is elite and Myles Garrett will be going against the Chargers' first-round pick, left tackle Rashawn Slater. That will be a matchup to watch between two heavyweights.

Browns Week 5 Predictions
4. Chargers contain Mayfield and force him to commit a turnover
The Chargers' defense intercepted Patrick Mahomes twice two weeks ago and then Derek Carr las Monday. For the first Browns Week 5 prediction, it is safe to expect the Bolts' defense to contain Mayfield and force him to either throw an interception or fumble on a sack.
Since Mayfield is dealing with a shoulder injury, it will be tough to overcome a defense playing at the level they are at. The Chargers will get Chris Harris Jr. back, which should make it even more of a challenge. The Browns will be without Jarvis Landry again.
3. Myles Garrett sacks Justin Herbert twice, Rashawn Slater allows first sack of career
Garrett is one of the best defensive ends in the NFL. He'll likely go up against Slater, who is playing like the top rookie in the entire league thus far.
This will be an exciting matchup to watch, however, Garrett should get the upper hand. Garrett will be too difficult to contain and will force his way past Slater and sack Justin Herbert. Not only will he do it once, but he'll get there twice.
2. Odell Beckham Jr. scores his first touchdown of the season
The Odell Beckham Jr. era has definitely not gone as hoped for the former New York Giants star. He is constantly dealing with injuries but does seem to have gotten healthier as the season goes by.
Beckham is due for a breakout game. Mayfield may have trouble finding Beckham throughout the contest, but he will find a way to score. Beckham should be able to score his first touchdown of the season despite playing against a tough Chargers secondary.
1. Browns' running game will dominate the entire 60 minutes
The Chargers own one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. This is a perfect matchup for one of the better running teams in the league. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt should carry the load for Cleveland on Sunday.
With the injury to Mayfield, they will need to rely on the duo to create any rhythm out there. For the final Browns Week 5 prediction, Cleveland should rush for well over a hundred yards and even score multiple touchdowns. If they can establish the run game, they should be able to control the time of possession. That will be a major factor if they want to beat Los Angeles.
