The Baltimore Ravens are tied with the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots for the best record in football, but there is no doubt they are the best team in football.

Anything can happen in the playoffs but all signs point towards this team hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in Miami in February. Let's breakdown four reasons why the Ravens are the best team in football.

4. Justin Tucker

Having the best kicker in the league is one of the keys for this team because the team knows when Justin Tucker lines up for a field goal, there are no questions if Justin Tucker is going to make it.

He kicked the game-winning 49 yards field goal against the 49ers in less than ideal conditions and he made it look easy. If the Ravens need a big kick under pressure, they know Tucker is going to come through.

3. Quality Wins

To be the best team in football a team usually needs to have the best record in football, and they have beaten the two teams tied with them for the best record. The Ravens dominated the Patriots 37-20 earlier in the season, and in their last game, a game-winning field goal by Justin Tucker pushed them to a win over the 49ers. They also have been dominant in some of their other wins including over the Houston Texans where they won 41-7.

If the season ended today, the Ravens would have home-field advantage until the Super Bowl and that is going to be a key part of their playoff run.

2. John Harbaugh

Remember last season when there were questions if John Harbaugh would be back this season as the Ravens coach? Those questions seem foolish at this point because he is proving again this season why he is one of the best coaches in the NFL. After the 2018 season, Harbaugh and the offensive staff rebuilt the offense to play to the strengths of Lamar Jackson and it has paid off in a big way.

Harbaugh is also one of the most aggressive coaches in the NFL and always seems to go for it at the perfect time. The Ravens have gone for it on 4th down 20 times this year which is third-most in the league behind only the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins. They have converted 15 of those tries, which is the best percentage in the league.

Early in the season, Harbaugh said the team's goal is to score as many points as possible, and he would continue to be aggressive in those situations.

1. Lamar Jackson

The top reason the Ravens are the best team in football is pretty simple, Lamar Jackson. Jackson should be the runaway winner of the MVP and defenses still have no idea how to slow him down.

So far this season, Jackson has passed for 2,532 yards, 25 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He has also rushed 140 times for 977 yards and seven touchdowns.

It doesn't seem to matter what defenses do, especially against the run because Jackson finds a way to break contain and run wild down the field. As long as he can stay healthy, the Ravens will continue to be the clear cut number one team in the NFL.
