The Golden State Warriors surprisingly dropped their game versus the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The main takeaway from the contest, however, wasn’t how the Dubs lost but rather the shooting slump that Stephen Curry is currently experiencing.

In his last two games, Curry is only 8-of-41  (19.5%) from the field and 2-of-19 (10.5%) from 3-point area for a total of just 23 points in both games.

In all fairness to the greatest shooter of all time, nobody is worried about this slump. However, if this continues, then the Dubs could be in danger of losing the first seed in the competitive Western Conference. That said, Curry has to find ways to get off his shooting slump as soon as possible, especially with the impending return of Klay Thompson.

Here are four ways the Baby-faced Assassin can do just that:

4. Run off-ball plays for Stephen Curry

There’s nobody more dangerous in off-ball sets than Curry. He’s the reason why the Warriors have been extremely tough to defend because the attention he requires on defense is huge. Curry’s teammate, Draymond Green, said it himself after Wednesday’s loss to the Mavericks: Get Curry off-the ball more so he can free up himself instead of being the point-of-attack on offense always.

Sometimes, the best looks he can get are when he is working off-the ball.

3. Take a breather

After Wednesday’s game, Curry mentioned that he hurt his quad and it seems he likely won’t play against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday. Maybe taking this break is a good opportunity for the Warriors guard to just get off his head a bit and rest his body.

It’s normal for shooters to get into slumps, especially if they’ve been in a streak for some time. Maybe the best solution to this slump is to rest Curry’s tired legs as well.

2. Build back rhythm and work on his finishing

Like curing a writer’s block, the best way to probably get out of a shooting slump is to well, shoot more. And it is hard to complain if it’s going to be Curry that should shoot more. I mean, why not? Maybe that would be the best way to build rhythm again.

Another part of his game that Curry must improve on is finishing at the rim. He is shooting below 40% from 3 and is at 36th percentile around the rim this season. He can no longer depend on garnering contact as much due to the changes in officiating.

1. Find motivation again

Stephen Curry doesn't seem like the type to lose motivation, but it's fair to question his performance from the 3-point line after he broke the most 3-pointers ever made in Madison Square Garden.

The Warriors superstar hasn't hit a ton of three pointers since that corresponding game, so maybe what Steph needs is another push to get off this slump. It won't be hard for him to do just that as his shooting struggles will probably be a topic in several debate and hot-take shows on air if it continues (ahem, Skip Bayless). Or he can simply just log into #NBATwitter like he normally does during halftime and check out all the tweets about him.
