The San Francisco 49ers received an injury scare early in the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Despite how bad it appeared to be, George Kittle's knee injury is not considered to be serious.

On the 49ers' first pass of the game, Kittle was knocked to the ground after taking Chandler Jones' helmet to his knee. When it happened, Kittle's knee bent awkwardly and he immediately grabbed for his knee.

The team's dynamic tight end was forced to miss the rest of the series but returned to the field on San Francisco's ensuing drive. Altogether, Kittle ended up playing in 69 of the team's offensive snaps and wasn't in during the 49ers' last possession of the game.

Shortly after the injury occurred, Kittle was able to catch a 30-yard touchdown to get San Francisco on the board. Even with the injury causing some obvious discomfort, the Pro-Bowl tight end finished with six receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown.

With how much Kittle does within Kyle Shanahan's offense, losing him to a knee injury would've been detrimental for the 49ers. Luckily, the versatile tight end has avoided a serious ailment to his knee. In his first two and a half seasons in the NFL, the athletic pass-catcher has only missed one game due to injury.

It helps that the 49ers will get 10 days off before they have to play their next game. Barring a setback, it appears as if Kittle will be ready to suit up when San Francisco faces the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10.
