Even Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James is bowing to the greatness of San Francisco 49ers running back (and touchdown factory) Christian McCaffrey. The King was left in awe again of CMC during Monday night's showdown between San Francisco and the Minnesota Vikings. Although the Niners ended up losing that game, 22-17, McCaffrey made his mark, as he finished with two touchdowns from scrimmage, thus ensuring that his streak of such touchdowns is still alive.

McCaffrey is simply different. He generated 45 rushing yards with a touchdown on 15 carries versus the Vikings and also caught all three balls that came his way for 51 receiving yards and a touchdown. Through seven weeks of football in the 2023 NFL campaign, the former Stanford Cardinal has already amassed 598 rushing yards and eight touchdowns to go with 228 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

But from a team perspective, the 49ers are not doing well of late. They have lost two games in a row after winning all their first five games of the season. Before losing in Minnesota, the Niners got upset in Santa Clara by the Deshaun Watson-less Cleveland Browns back in Week 6.

There is no reason for San Francisco to even think about pushing the panic button, as they remain on top of the NFC West division despite being in the midst of a bad stretch.

McCaffrey and the Niners will regroup and prepare for a Week 8 assignment against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals when they return home for their next game on Sunday.
