Few could argue that San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle had a spectacular 2018 regular season, and Pro Football Focus has the in-depth stats to prove it.

Kittle set an NFL record for most receiving yards by a tight end in a single season, as he notched 88 receptions for 1,377 yards and five touchdowns on the year.

Of course, even with his impressive efforts, it wasn't enough to help the Niners get over the hump.

San Francisco finished 4-12 on the season, with injuries certainly playing a key role in the struggles after starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a torn ACL back in Week 3.

However, Kittle still managed to put together a tremendous stat line on the season, with these stats from Pro Football Focus furthering the dominance that he showed on the field.

The Niners found themselves needing to play catch up in a lot of games this season, and that helped Kittle emerge as the top target in the often used passing attack.

While the record once again leaves a lot to be desired, San Francisco fans have to be excited about what Kittle may be able to do once Garoppolo is able to return to action. If those two can develop a great connection, it will go a long way towards getting this franchise back on track.

There's no doubt that getting everyone healthy this offseason is going to be a top priority, and if Kittle can pick back up where he left off this season, it may allow the Niners to take a big step forward in 2019.
