With the number of trade demands and seeking bigger pay, players have a lot more power than ever before. Some are starting to be worried over the excessive want to be moved from their team to a better one and creating a power shift.

Especially with some of the bizarre moves that have already happened since the start of the season and that continue to happen. And one person that believes that this is a good thing is outspoken cornerback Richard Sherman.

“I think it’s good for the game just because it gives something different. It’s not as predictable,” Sherman said per Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee.

Some of the big moves that have happened have changed the course for many teams in the league. There are the bizarre actions of Antonio Brown that led to a release that he asked for from the Oakland Raiders that had him end up with the New England Patriots.

The early trade of defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick that recently occurred and had him go from South Beach to Pittsburgh. And now another outspoken cornerback in Jalen Ramsey is looking to leave Jacksonville for better success.

Those are a lot of changes for teams that aren't necessarily in contention and seeing their players go to better teams. This new “player empowerment era” is something that Sherman finds good for the game.

“I think you see that in a big way. I do think that’s another benefit that’s going to come from this, is that I think these organizations are going to treat these players with a lot more respect and admiration, and just appreciation.”

And with the way players look to use their value to their advantage, it might be the players who will be in charge soon enough.
