San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman is a game-time decision to play in the team’s Week 7 clash against the Los Angeles Rams, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Rapoport adds that fellow cornerbacks K'Waun Williams and CB Ahkello Witherspoon are both expected to play, while Jimmie Ward is doubtful.

Sherman, who is making his return from an Achilles tear he suffered last year, has been dealing with a calf issue for a good portion of the season and has missed one game thus far.

However, that injury hasn’t slowed Sherman down that much. Per Pro Football Focus, Sherman is actually allowing the lowest passer rating among all cornerbacks through the first six weeks of the season.

Sherman’s presence in the Niners secondary, even if he’s not quite at 100 percent, would still be a big boost to their chances of stopping the Rams’ prolific passing attack.

But even if Sherman does play, it still seems like wishful thinking that the 49ers somehow end their four-game losing streak by dealing the Rams their first loss of the season.

LA’s passing offense led by quarterback Jared Goff has been outstanding once again, and it’ll take a Herculean effort from Sherman and the rest of the San Francisco defense to even slow them down.
