On Sunday afternoon in Week 7 of the NFL season, the struggling San Francisco 49ers will play a divisional game against the undefeated Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers are looking for what would be only their second win of the season while the Rams aim to stay perfect.
Unfortunately for San Francisco, chances of pulling off the upset against their division rivals will be even tougher on Sunday with one of their best defensive players ruled out. Veteran corner Richard Sherman will miss today's game due to a calf injury he's been dealing with and that doesn't bode well for a team that is already giving up almost 30 points per game (29.8) this year, via Kirk Larrabee of 247 Sports.
The San Francisco 49ers will be short at the cornerback position against the Los Angles Rams this afternoon with both Richard Sherman and Jimmie Ward out of the lineup due to injury.
Along with Sherman set to miss this game against the Rams, the 49ers will have Jimmy Ward stuck on the sideline for Week 7 because of a hamstring injury. Another notable player that will be inactive for San Francisco is Dante Pettis who is battling a knee injury.
As expected with or without the injuries to some of the team's key players on both sides of the football for the 49ers, the Rams are heavy favorites. According to BetOnline.ag, Los Angeles is favored to come out on top in this NFC West showdown with a -9 point spread.
