The San Francisco 49ers are set to square off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV. 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is well-aware that he will have his hands full trying to contain the Chiefs' high-powered offense, led by Super Bowl MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs have managed to stockpile some serious firepower around Mahomes in recent years. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Saleh has even likened them to a full-fledged Olympic relay squad:

“It almost looks like they got their roster from the Olympic relay team and threw them all on the football field.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Saleh's comments. Kansas City could likely assemble a relay team of its own that would give most countries a run for their money. Unfortunately for San Francisco, it has been proven that their speed transitions well to the football field.

There is no shortage of weapons for Mahomes to get the ball to on offense. Headlining the receiving corps is Tyreek Hill, known as perhaps the fastest wide receiver in the NFL, and tight end Travis Kelce, who has established himself as arguably the best player at his position. Meanwhile, wide receiver Mecole Hardman has shown to be quite the playmaker as a complementary option in the passing game, and don't forget about Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson.

Although trying to contain the Chiefs' offense is a tall task, this 49ers' defense is perhaps more equipped to deal with them than any other team. Saleh has put together the most formidable group in the NFL, and their dominance has served as a central force of their impressive run in the 2019 NFL season.
