Another year, another snub from the Pro Football Hall of Fame for legendary San Francisco 49ers running back Roger Craig. Needless to say, Craig continues to be rather perplexed by the situation.

The former Niners running back was left off the list 0f 15 finalists for this year's induction. During an appearance on The 49ers Insider Podcast, Craig admitted that he is displeased with not making it as a modern-era candidate:

“I thought I'd go in a long time ago,” Craig said. “It's kind of funny all these other guys went in before me when I kind of changed the game for the millennials today.

“For me, being the first to do the thousand-thousand and being an all-purpose kind of running back, I see a lot of those guys today, and I'm like, ‘Wow, man, that's what I used to do.'”

Craig is certainly no stranger to being snubbed after only making the final cut just once in 2010. That said, there is good reason for him to be frustrated with the lack of love from the consensus.

Craig revolutionized the running back position thanks to his receiving prowess out of the backfield. His dynamic skill set helped him become the first player to ever register 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in one season, doing so in 1985. The feat has only been accomplished one other time, by Hall of Fame St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk in 1999.

The Niners legend retired in the top-20 all-time in both rushing and receiving while helping San Francisco to three Super Bowl wins. Unfortunately, he seems to have fallen through the cracks in recent years and will likely make the Hall of Fame as a senior candidate.
