In the last several days, Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s future with the New York Giants has been on shaky ground after his viral video displaying him possibly being involved in illegal drug use. This has led to Giants entertain the idea of listening to trade offers for Beckham Jr.

The Los Angeles Rams had emerged in that conversation as a possible landing spot with the team reportedly reaching out to the Giants to acquire the 25-year-old. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the San Francisco 49ers could also be in the picture as a trade destination this offseason.

Very much in the same proactive mode as the Rams, trying to build a top offense around a young play-calling head coach. I continue to hear San Francisco is monitoring this thing closely, has real interest, and this could shape up as a very interested NFC West arms race.

Like the Rams, the 49ers have been quite active in adding pieces to their roster behind their large amount of salary cap space. Much of this has come in the way utilizing the free agent market. San Francisco also has a sizable number of high draft picks with a first-rounder, a second-round selection, and a pair of third-round picks in this year's draft.

Although the Giants are looking garner a trade package that includes a couple of first-round selections, the 49ers have intriguing early-round picks that could be used to offer. The interest from the organization could due to combating the plethora of moves that the Rams have made this offseason and help keep another talented player from joining the fray.

The addition of Beckham Jr. would give him a bonafide No.1 wide receiver to pair alongside Marquise Goodwin for Jimmy Garoppolo to throw to in the passing game. It would help give them a more lethal offensive unit with one of the league's best wide receivers leading the way. The 49ers also have the financial flexibility to offer the type of contract that he would be looking to land.

If anything, it should leave a watchful eye on the situation in New York that could San Francisco step-in to land Beckham this offseason
