Trent Williams hasn't had much time to get acclimated with the San Francisco 49ers and Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason due to COVID-19. However, the veteran left tackle is already impressed with his new quarterback's ‘laid-back' demeanor.

“I think the player he is well-documented, but as a person I think he is the most down-to-earth guy you’ll meet,” Williams said Thursday on a video conference, via Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.

During the 2020 NFL Draft, Williams' stalemate with the Washington Football Team came to a resolution. Despite Ron Rivera being reluctant to trade the Pro Bowl tackle, Washington traded him to the 49ers in exchange for draft capital.

With the coronavirus causing concern, Williams wasn't able to work out with many of his teammates — including Garoppolo. Therefore, he was forced to watch film on his quarterback and was immediately fond of his game. Then, upon meeting Garoppolo, Williams was instantly a fan of the 28-year-old quarterback.

“He’s probably the hottest thing walking around this Bay Area,” Williams said. “He’s very laid-back, very welcoming guy. I can’t wait to get started.

“I feel like it’s going to be a blast. I can’t say enough good things about this team.”

Throughout his time in Washington, Williams didn't experience much team success, which he's hoping to change with the 49ers. While he's made seven Pro Bowls, Williams made the playoffs just twice in Washington. Furthermore, Washington would fail to win in either of their postseason appearances.

Now, with the 49ers, Williams is going to be playing for the reigning NFC Champions. At the same time, the formidable left tackle is thrilled to have Garoppolo as his quarterback in 2020.
