Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid was honored with the Best Social Media Follow award by the National Basketball Players Association during the Players' Voice Awards. These awards are a direct result of voting by the players of the league, as the motto reads: “the only awards voted on BY the players, FOR the players.”

An award in the making for the last three seasons, Embiid has been entertaining social media friends since getting drafted in 2014. While many Sixers fans were bummed he was forced to miss two seasons with multiple injuries, they were surely entertained with his savage responses to critics and quirky personality.
Whether it's him hitting on pop star Rihanna, ruthlessly swatting little kids in the playground, or being active in the European soccer scene — Embiid is a must-follow player in all platforms, making him a lock for this very award.
