Monday night will showcase an interconference matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Sacramento Kings. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a 76ers-Kings prediction and pick based on 76ers and Kings odds.

The Philadelphia 76ers are finally just playing basketball and not worried about all the distractions surrounding the team. They are 9-8 on the season and sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia is 5-4 on the road this year and that is a good statistic to keep an eye on because of how good they are at home. They are just 4-4 at home this year but in years prior have proven to be dominant in Philadelphia. Joel Embiid continues to be out due to health and safety protocols, and we all know why Ben Simmons isn't playing. Despite their two best players missing a majority of the year, the 76ers are playing well and seeing great play from other stars. Andre Drummond is averaging just under a double-double over his last 10 games.

It's been a difficult season for the Sacramento Kings this year. They are just 6-11 and sit in 12th place in the Western Conference. The Kings are 2-6 at home this year which is not something to look forward to at all. Sacramento is currently on a three-game losing streak and recently fired head coach Luke Walton. The Walton hire didn't work out for both sides as he ended his tenure with a 68-93 record in just over two seasons. The Kings named Alvin Gentry as interim head coach until they hire someone else. It's going to be another rough season for the Kings unless a major spark happens.

Here is how the bookmakers set the 76ers-Kings line for Monday night.

Why The 76ers Could Cover The Spread

The Philadelphia 76ers should have zero issues covering this spread tonight. I am actually a bit shocked to see the 76ers as underdogs with how poorly the Kings are playing as of late. The 76ers will be without Embiid and Danny Green for tonight's game. I still expect them to come out on top despite all the absences from their stars. They still have Drummond and Tobias Harris playing very well for them. Tyrese Maxey is also a rising star who just scored 28 against the Portland Trail Blazers. Seth Curry continues to shoot well and is shooting over 50% on the season.

Philadelphia needs to contain Richaun Holmes, who averages 11.3 points in the paint. He, alongside De'Aaron Fox and Harrison Barnes, form a solid tandem but it shouldn't be anything the 76ers can't handle. I expect the 76ers to come out and play well against a team that isn't playing well.

Why The Kings Could Cover The Spread

This is an interesting spread for this game. I think even the Kings are shocked to be favored in this game. The only reason it is this way is because of the absence of Embiid. It's still shocking to me because the Kings are on a three-game losing streak and are not playing well at all. The offense is struggling to score and the defense is giving up a ton of points. The team just fired their coach so that is a sign that things aren't going so smooth.

If the Kings are going to cover this spread and win the game, then Fox, Barnes, and Holmes are going to need to really dominate. Barnes is playing well over his last 10 games with 19.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Fox is averaging 21 points and 5.2 assists. The problem is that the Kings are 3-7 over their last 10 games and do not seem to be improving at all.

Final 76ers-Kings Prediction & Pick

I am taking the 76ers to upset the Kings in what shouldn't be much of an upset. I think the 76ers are better coached as Doc Rivers is one of the elite coaches in the NBA. That will be a factor tonight and I expect Philadelphia to control most of the game. The Kings could play better without Walton as the coach but we will need to see it happen first.

Final 76ers-Kings Prediction & Pick: 76ers +3.5 (-106)
