After nearly winning the AEW tag team championship at Double or Nothing at the end of May, there already appears to be tension between Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee, the duo who just christened themselves “Swerve in our Glory” on the previous edition week's Dynamite.

Taking part in the Battle Royal for the interim AEW Championship, Lee bullied up on and eliminated a number of contenders early on, including Tony Nese, Lance Archer, and both members of the Ass Boys Gun Club, before being flipped over the ropes by none other than Strickland, who flashed a devilish grin as his current – former? – tag team partner watched on in horror.

But
why? When Lee left the match, there were still a number of contenders left fighting for a spot in the show's main event versus Jon Moxley. Had the duo stuck it out and stuck together like ReDRagon or the team of Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks, maybe one or both of the wrestlers could have stuck it out until the final four verses Rey Fenix, Wheeler Yuta, Kyle O'Reilly, and Andrade, but alas it wasn't meant to be; Swerve was eliminated shortly thereafter and now has to presumably talk to Lee backstage about what went down, assuming he doesn't dip out early to avoid dealing the most athletic big man in wrestling.

Who knows, maybe the duo will talk things out, and “Swerve in our Glory” will be back in business pulling off some of the most exciting in-ring maneuvers you will ever see, but if this marks the end of the tag team or at least the beginning of the end, it'll be a real shame, as the two former NXT start have been a money pairing in AEW.
