Fans have been wanting to see Johnny Gargano in an AEW ring since he initially became a free agent back in December of 2021 and time and time again, they have been let down.

Mystery arrival at a Pay-Per-View?  Hasn't been Gargano. Suprise arrival at a home state show in Ohio? Hasn't happened either. Heck, it was Andrade, not Gargano, who ended up being the Joker entrant at the Casino Battle Royal to decide on Jon Moxley's opponent for a shot at the Interim World Championship bout at Forbidden Door, despite already being a member of the roster.

Alright, enough's enough, right? Surely this time will be different and Gargano will find his way to Forbidden Door as Bryan Danielson's hand-picked replacement for a match against Zack Sabre Jr., and then his in-rig replacement at Blood and Guts. He has to be, right?

Unfortunately, that probably isn't the case. No, if Gargano is going to make his AEW debut in Chicago, he'll first be stopping off in Orlando, as he posted a picture on an airplane departing the Windy City at 3:53 pm and likely won't arrive at the Orlando International Airport until 7 pm, give or take a few minutes either way.

Now granted, could Gargano land in Orlando, run home, grab his gear, and fly back to Chicago in time for the show? Maybe if his match is going on really late, but for all intents and purposes, it's probably better to just assume that he is not, in fact, the mystery opponent for ZSJ at Forbidden Door, and that honor instead belongs to someone like Claudio Castagnoli or Blake Christian, who already wrestled a match earlier in the day for Warrior Wrestling in Chicago. *sigh* oh well, another month, another Johnny Gargano rumor, that's just the way, huh?
